Students learn teamwork while working on real world projects and programming in Unity and other languages, VR software design, and digital image processing mathematics. Building on Shenandoah’s strengths in theatre, media production and technology, these programs will prepare students for expanding career opportunities in augmented and virtual reality. Shenandoah’s Virtual Reality Design programs are designed to give students the knowledge and skills they need to apply immersive technologies to real world applications. Students will gain practical experience working with widely used software development environments and tools using state of the art equipment. The BS in Virtual Reality Design will prepare students for careers working as technical specialists and/or programmers in emerging immersive technologies. Bachelor of Science in Virtual Reality Design Students will gain experience writing, filming, editing, and directing content development. This degree track will prepare students to specialize in 360 video or AR/VR content production. The BA in Virtual Reality Design will prepare students for careers producing high-quality content for emerging immersive technologies. Bachelor of Arts in Virtual Reality Design Shenandoah is the first higher education institution in Virginia to offer a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in virtual reality/augmented reality (AR/VR) design.
